Native Noodles turns 1!

It feels like just yesterday that we signed the lease on our space in Washington Heights and converted what used to be a car service agency to our Singaporean restaurant.

The past 12 months have been full of learning, growth and memorable, fun moments.

It’s hard to narrow it down, but here are our top 3 highlights from the past year of being open:

1. You all!

We can’t thank you enough for the support you’ve shown us from the very beginning. Despite our lack of proper signage (we know - working on it, promise!), and our menu of new, somewhat unfamiliar flavors, you have all shown up, supported and welcomed us to your communities. Many of you have also become beloved regulars - we’ve loved getting to know you over the past year and look forward to deepening our connection in the next! See below for some images (many more where these came from!) of the notes you guys have left for us, ranging from hilarious to heartwarming ❤️

2. Showcasing Singaporean flavors and playing a part in representing the great cuisine from our home

Singaporean cuisine has historically been under-represented in NYC (although that is changing more and more, which is very exciting!).

We are so thankful that in the year we have been open, Native Noodles and our take on Singaporean flavors has been featured on publications and platforms including The New Yorker, Gothamist, Eater, The Infatuation, Thrillist, TimeOut, Patch, and NBC and ABC news. Getting positive press is always a huge morale boost to the team, and enables us to broaden our reach.

We also ran a pop-up with natural wine bar Skin Contact in the Lower East Side, owned by a dear friend and fellow Singaporean. It was an amazing experience seeing the great turnout from the community downtown.

We are proud to represent the delicious, multicultural cuisine of Singapore and to introduce more and more people to it!

3. Building a strong team

Anyone in the restaurant business will tell you that finding the right people is the biggest challenge they face. While we admittedly continue to go through some of the same challenges (thank you for your patience with us when this happens!), we are constantly striving to improve your experience with us in terms of food quality and consistency, service and timelines. If you have feedback for our team, it would be so helpful to provide it on-the-spot wherever you can (verbally, or email amy@nativenoodles.com/DM our Instagram), so we can make adjustments as quickly as possible. We appreciate your support in making us better!

To celebrate our anniversary and to thank all of you, we’d like to offer you $5 off your next order via our website with code HBDNN.

The reward expires on March 18, 2022. No cash value. Valid in-store or via Square Online.

Join us in raising a glass to a successful year, and to many more ahead! We couldn’t do it without you and your support.
